💰 Dividend Capture Strategy

How the play works. Buy the trading day before a stock's ex-dividend date, collect the dividend, then sell once the price climbs back to what you paid. The catch: on the ex-date the price drops by roughly the dividend, so you only actually pocket it if the price recovers — and in an efficient market that's a coin toss. This tool replays every past dividend to measure how often, and how fast, each stock's price came back, and flags the ones that don't.

⚠ Reality check: net of the ex-date drop, trading fees, and tax, dividend capture is a thin edge. A short hold means the dividend is taxed as ordinary income (you forfeit the lower qualified rate, which needs a >60-day hold). Ex-dates shown are projected from each stock's cadence — confirm the exact date with your broker before trading. This is analysis, not investment advice.
