⚖️ Legal — Terms of Use & Disclaimers

Please read these terms carefully before using MoneyDesk.

Last updated: 17 October 2026 · Applies to this MoneyDesk instance and all who access it.

MoneyDesk is a free, educational stock-market simulator. It is not a broker, bank, investment adviser or financial institution. It handles no real money, executes no real trades, and nothing in it is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Do not upload Social Security numbers, bank information, credit or debit card information, or any other personal information to this site.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using MoneyDesk (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms of Use and all disclaimers below. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use it on behalf of anyone else, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for them. You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction to form a binding agreement.

2. Educational purpose only — no financial advice

The Service exists for education, information and entertainment only. Nothing it displays — including features named “Recommended”, “Best Buys”, “Short-Term”, scores, outlooks, price targets, stop levels, screens, backtests, forward tests, the financial-health score, projections, or any other output — is investment, trading, tax, accounting or legal advice, an offer, a solicitation, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or to adopt any strategy. All such output is the result of automated, generic mathematical formulas applied to third-party data, and may be wrong. The Service does not consider your personal circumstances, objectives or risk tolerance.

3. Simulated — no real money, no real transactions

All trading, portfolios, orders, fills, cash, balances, profit/loss and performance in the Service are simulated (“paper”). No real securities are bought or sold, no real money is held, transferred or at risk, and the Service is not connected to any brokerage or bank account. Simulated results are hypothetical, do not reflect real trading costs, taxes, slippage, liquidity or market impact, and past or simulated performance does not predict future results.

4. No professional or fiduciary relationship

Using the Service creates no adviser–client, broker–customer, fiduciary, agency or other professional relationship between you and the operator, owner, developers, hosts or contributors. Before making any financial decision you must do your own research, independently verify all information, and consult a licensed financial adviser, broker, accountant and/or attorney. Never invest money you cannot afford to lose.

5. Third-party data, attribution & copyright

Market data, quotes, fundamentals, news and other information come from third-party sources and may be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or unavailable. The operator does not create this data, does not guarantee it, and is not responsible for it. Do not rely on it for any real financial decision.

The Service claims no credit for, and no ownership of, any third-party content. The sources whose work this Service displays or links to include: Yahoo Finance and Stooq (market quotes and price history); FRED®, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (economic data series); The World Bank (GDP and country statistics); the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (EDGAR) (company fundamentals); and news publishers including CNBC, MarketWatch, The Wall Street Journal, BBC, The New York Times, The Guardian, the Federal Reserve and CoinDesk. News items are displayed only as a headline, the publisher’s name and a link that opens the original article on the publisher’s own website; the articles themselves are the property of, and copyrighted by, their respective publishers. All product names, logos and trademarks mentioned anywhere in the Service belong to their respective owners; their appearance does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of this Service. Briefings, scores, gauges and plain-English interpretations shown in the Service are the operator’s own commentary derived from the sourced data.

If you are a content owner and believe anything here misuses your work, contact the operator (section 18) and it will be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed promptly.

6. “AS IS” — no warranties

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. The operator does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any result or information will be accurate or reliable. You use the Service entirely at your own risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will the operator, owner, developers, hosts, contributors or their affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, savings, data, goodwill, or any trading or investment losses, arising out of or relating to your use of, reliance on, or inability to use the Service — whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, the operator’s total aggregate liability for all claims will not exceed USD $0, reflecting that the Service is provided free of charge. Your sole and exclusive remedy is to stop using the Service.

8. Assumption of risk & indemnification

You knowingly and voluntarily assume all risk arising from your use of the Service and any decisions you make. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the operator, owner, developers, hosts and contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

9. Your account & security

You are responsible for your login credentials, any optional two-factor authentication, your one-time recovery code, and all activity under your account. Keep them safe; the operator cannot recover a lost recovery code. The guest workspace is shared and public to all guests — do not put anything private in it. Do not enter real account numbers, real bank credentials, government identifiers or other sensitive personal information anywhere in the Service.

10. Do not upload sensitive personal information

Never upload, enter, paste or store any of the following anywhere in the Service:

This applies to every input, including the bank and card statement import, the JSON data import, notes, the community area and the shared guest workspace. If you import a statement, remove account numbers and anything that identifies a person from the file first; the Service only needs dates, descriptions and amounts. MoneyDesk is a free educational simulator. It is not built, audited or certified to hold this kind of data, and the operator may delete any such content without notice. Anything you upload in breach of this section is at your own risk.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose or real financial transaction; present its output as advice to others; attempt to gain unauthorized access, disrupt, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the Service; upload malicious code; or post unlawful, abusive, infringing or misleading content. The operator may suspend or remove access or content at its discretion.

12. User-generated content

Any content you submit (for example in the community area) is your responsibility. You grant the operator a non-exclusive licence to display and moderate it. The operator does not endorse user content and may remove it and block users at its sole discretion. Opinions of users are their own, not the operator’s.

13. Privacy & your data

The Service stores the data you enter (such as watchlists, simulated trades, budgets and account settings) to make the app work. It is not sold. Optional outgoing e-mail (e.g. alerts) is sent only if configured. Because this is a self-hosted, free tool, you use it as-is; do not store sensitive personal or financial information in it. You may export or delete your money data at any time from the Money Home screen.

14. External links

The Service may reference or link to third-party sites and resources for convenience. The operator does not control and is not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices. Accessing them is at your own risk.

15. Changes to the Service and these Terms

The Service is provided free of charge and may be changed, suspended or discontinued at any time without notice. These Terms may be updated at any time; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Check the “Last updated” date above.

16. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [the operator’s jurisdiction — to be specified], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction, and, to the extent permitted by law, on an individual basis (no class actions). If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.

17. No fees

The Service is offered free of charge. There are no fees, subscriptions or payments, and the operator receives no compensation from your use of it.

18. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be directed to the operator of this MoneyDesk instance through ✉ Contact the operator (in the app) (no account needed), or by e-mail: show e-mail address (in the app)

By using MoneyDesk you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms of Use and all disclaimers above, and that the Service is a free educational simulation and not financial advice.
